Easy chicken in your smoker.
Ingredients
Large Chicken Thighs or Breasts
OPTIONAL SAUCE & RUB (for Marinating):
BBQ Sauce of Choice (I like Traeger's Apricot)
Dry Rub (I like Spiceology Cherry Chipotle Ale Rub)
Instructions
MARINATE YOUR CHICKEN:
For 30 minutes to overnight, using your desired marinade, spices, or rub, marinate your chicken — I like the Spiceology Cherry Chipotle Ale Rub and I coat and massage each chicken with olive oil and season with the rub.
GET TO SMOKIN':
Once chicken is done marinating, PREHEAT Traeger to 180°F. If your smoker has Super Smoke mode, TURN IT ON.
Once preheated, add chicken to smoker and cook for 1 hour.
Turn smoker to 350°F and cook about another hour until chicken reaches 165°F.
OPTIONAL BASTE: When chicken is about done, baste with desired bbq sauce and cook for 10 min — I like Traeger's Apricot.
Be sure chicken in 165°F to ensure cooked through, add more sauce if desired, serve and enjoy!
